Filter System
The filtration system filters the water through while removing impurities so that you’re using cleaner water for your baby. It comes supplied with one filter and new Tommee Tippee Perfect Prep filters can be purchased separately.
Hot Shot
Initially, before making a fresh bottle, the Tommee Tippee machine will give a shot of hot water into the bottle to clean any bacteria that may be in the formula or bottle. This is a great concept, however, it is still highly recommended that you sterilise each bottle before use.
Accurate Body Temp
After the hot shot, and adding the formula, another cooler set of water goes into the bottle creating the perfect body temperature bottle every time. This is great for bottles you need to use straight away. If not, store in the fridge and the Tommee Tippee Travel bottle warmer (sold separately) will warm it up for you on the go.
Slow Flow Teat
The bottle comes with the first steps slow teat for newborn and younger babies. However, you can purchase different bottles with faster teats as the baby gets older.
Milk Storage Lid
These lids allow you to store milk that is prepped for quick feeding on the go. Just warm it up and you are ready. They are also useful when putting in the formula and shaking the bottle up before finishing the Tommee Tippee process.
BPA-Free Baby Bottle
The Tommee Tippee Perfect Prep Machine comes with one 150ML BPA-free bottle, however, most brands of bottles will work in the machine. The only downside is the lowest amount it makes is 4 ounces. Most newborns will only eat 2 to 3 ounces per feeding. So, you may end up wasting 2 ounces. A better way to do this is to make the 4 ounces and divide into two bottles. Store the second bottle in the fridge until you are ready to use.
Cleaning the machine
The Tommee Tippee Perfect prep machine should be cleaned on first use and every time you change the filter, which would be every 3 to 4 months. This process takes about 10 minutes. This is one of the only times you will put hot water in the machine. The hot water safety light will come on and will not allow you to make a bottle during this process.
Descaling the machine
Having a filter makes limescale build up less of an issue with this machine. However, on occasion limescale will build up in the machine and the descaling alert light will come on. This is similar to the cleaning process. Follow the simple instructions to descale the machine before making a new bottle.
